Don't believe the fishing report. The guys at the bait shop give better reports than what is actually happening in order to get people up there. Lake was beautiful, but two days and nobody caught anything.
We love to fish and have been coming here for years. Had a motor Home and stayed at RV parks before selling it. Now stay at Laguna Vista in middle of town.
This place is the perfect hidden secret family getaway. Just gorgeous, and still very close to Taos. Will be planning a long vacation in the near future.
Full rehab from the old days of potholed dirt roads and eating on the ground. Super nice, with personal and group pavilions available, wheelchair access, and only 5.00 per carload day rate. Loved the fireworks!
This is a small but spectacular campground. There are only 19 RV sites here and no hook-ups but this is one of the best boondocking campgrounds I've been to. In the morning, mist rises off the lake water and deer eat grass nearby. It costs $10 a night or it's free with a New Mexico State Park Pass. We camped here in August 2017 in a 30' motorhome.
